Hurt wrisit from blow of shovel. dr not sure if it's chipped or calcified bone. have a cast on, whats the difference and what next?

Need better doc!: If your primary doc isn't sure, ask for a referral to a hand surgeon to look over your x-rays. We usually can tell old vs new fracture vs unrelated pathology. Make sure to bring x-ray films or disk to hand surgeon to look over. May need more detailed studies like a CT to tell. Casting is fine for a short while until diagnosis is more clear, as some fractures may take a while to show up.
