A member asked:

My 6 weeks baby have constipation since she was 3 weeks, she will spend 1week without making stool, nothing work except glycerin sp, on breast feeding?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Breast fed kids: Breast fed infants can stool a little every feed or overflow a diaper once a week. If it is soft when they go it is not constipation. If stools are getting hard, i often try full strength prune juice, 1oz once or more/d.Takes about 3d to get things moving. Solids like applesauce, rice cereal or bananas often slow things down & constipate a baby. Peaces, pears, & barley are less constipating.
