Repeat test: Sometimes the 1st test will return negative then positive in another week. If repeat test negative, then go back to enjoying unprotected sex (it may take up to a year to get pregnant after stopping birth control - go see family doc if more than 1yr ). In meantime, start taking prenatal vitamins (contains extra folate (folic acid) to lower risk for neural tube defects) when you decide to try to conceive.
