On and off diarrhea for a month being tested for giardia etc but the stool wasn't on the day i had diarrhea is detection still possible?

Causes of diarrhea: There are many causes of diarrhea -and good if you have an ID doctor or a GI doctor to help figure it out. Often 'clues' can be found by asking questions that might give the reason for the diarrhea. Giardia is associated with camping, animal exposures, and travel. If there was no diarrhea when you were tested, the yield of the test is reduced. Hope you are getting a complete work-up. Check w/ MD.
