Cough: Cough is often multifactorial and can require more than one intervention to effectively treat. May be the heartburn itself or perhaps an alternate cause that has caused your cough to return.

More often improves: If heartburn from reflux, more likely the stomach acid can make it up to irritate the airway and cause cough--so antacid (h2 blocker / ppi) can help reduce this acidity and reduce the cough, not cause it.
