The Jury's Still Out: Music with lyrics is very likely to have a problematic effect when you’re writing or reading, probably less of an effect on math. Some studies support use of music, other say it impairs performance. I recommend tailoring the music you listen to while studying based on the subject matter and your mood. Doing this might be able to keep you more focused.
