Second opinion: If you are not confident in the initial diagnosis, get a second opinion. A virus is the most common cause of conjunctivitis by far. And for that, no antibiotics are needed. Discharge is normally milky/watery. If you experienece any decrease in vision, definitely get evaluated by an eye doc. Take care.
