No: First, I would rec making sure there are no definite medical conditions that are causing you hair loss. I would see your physician. Problems with thyroid for example can cause hair loss and treating the condition will help your hair. Secondly, for transplants the recipient area does not need to be shaved. The doctor will shave the donor site at the time of transplant
