A member asked:

28 weeks pregnant. i used to cry and brood sometime, when i feel down for some reason. scientifically, will this mentality affect my baby's health?

No: No, this is very normal for some mothers to be and even postpartum. The hormonal changes going on in your body are quite a bit and behind this mood change. Take care of yourself and seek help in terms of someone to talk to and support!

Probably not: I am glad you say you "used to" cry and brood and that you don't now. Being happy is better for you and the baby than not. Don't worry though. There is no definite evidence that crying and brooding will affect the baby unless it is combined with other unhealthy things, like alcohol, drugs, bad diet, etc.
