A member asked:

What is the difference between your blood alcohol level and your ethanol level?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

None - same thing: Ethanol, or ethyl alcohol, is the chemical name for "beverage alcohol," to distinguish it from other alcohols, like wood alcohol (methanol or methyl alcohol) and rubbing alcohol (isopropyl alcohol). There is a slight difference between the blood alcohol level and the serum alcohol level (about 10%), but they are almost the same thing too.
