A member asked:

How is your blood alcohol level affected by the drinks you've had?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

It goes up the more: you drink. Depending on gender and to some extent size, it goes up about 200 mg% (0.02) with each drink, also dependent on how quickly you drink, and whether it is on an empty stomach, as well as individual tolerance. About 4 drinks within one hour will result in a BAC of 80mg% (or 0.08 gms%). This can be higher in some people, especially if drinks are "chugged" - one after the other rapidly.
