Depends on for what?: In terms of knowing the level of acute intoxication - how much alcohol is in the bloodstream/brain - a breathalyzer gives you a very close approximation of the true blood alcohol concentration (although blood/serum is slightly more accurate and cannot be manipulated by patient actions like breathalyzers can). Urine tests, particularly ethyl glucuronide can however detect alcohol use days earlier.
