A member asked:

How does a urine alcohol test work? is it acccurate?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Alcohol metabolite: The common alcohol urine test examines the urine for a metabolite of alcohol, ethyl glucronide. It can be detected up to five days after intake of alcohol, so called 80 hour test. It is accurate and may be too accurate in that the result may be positive for using alcohol gel for hand sanitation.
