A member asked:

What is the difference between a condition that is autosomal dominant or codominant?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Variety of alleles: Consider the example of blood groups. In the Rh system, D is the dominant allele, d the recessive. If a person has DD or Dd, they are Rh positive; if dd, they are negative. For the ABO group, A and B are codominant, and O is recessive. AB gives blood group AB. AA or AO gives A. BB or BO gives B. OO gives O. It's a little more tricky but I hope the basic idea is clear.
