My 61yo dad has had abdominal discomfort for over 4weeks. ultrasound showed 'thickening of bowel'. constipated despite being prescribed movicol, lactulose n senna for last 18 months. due colonoscopy next week. what could it be?

Abdominal discomfort: well there are a lot of reasons for constipation. could be bowel obstruction, decreased motility or maybe due to his age and other factors a mass in the colon/rectum. id suggest to wait for the results of colonoscopy before jumping into any conclusion
