A member asked:

Can abnormal tsh or estrogen levels make an adult female grow taller (in 30s)? would abnormal excessive growth hormones be the cause of that to occur

A doctor has provided 1 answer

No: Linear growth is controlled by growth centers in the long bones and vertebrae, Once they close after puberty, one does not grow taller. Estrogen actually signals the growth centers to close. Growth hormones in excess can increase bone thickening and organ density/size, but will nor make a mature adult grow taller. Sylvester Stallone would be a seven footer if it did.
