Great idea!: It is a good idea to journal and take it with you to the therapist for some people. To be efficient either make talking point and read it to the therapist or give your main concermn in bullet points. Teh therapist can get the details from you as necessary.

What you can do,: If you're 18 or older, is you've fill out demographic, HIPAA & other needed forms at your initial visit, then request that the office staff put a sealed envelope addressed to the provider in your chart. Start your written communication by saying what you said here. When you see the provider, he or she will tell you how to proceed from there.

Disclose this: I have started many treatments with clients talking about how hard it is to talk, how hard it is to be there, how uncomfortable they are etc . Being honest is the only way to really go.

You can: I suppose you can, provided the psychologist can deal with working that way. But you'll need to bring a great deal of paper, because typically in therapy the patient does most of the talking and the therapist does most of the listening. Try talking. It's a safe place to talk and be heard, and not judged.
