Finger bump: Sounds like it might be a wart. See a dermatologist to make sure it isn't anything more serious.

Other possibilities: Include ganglion of tendon sheath and mucous cyst- ganglion of joint. These fluid filled cysts can arise spontaneously, after trauma, or in association with arthritis of a nearby joint. Even though they are fluid filled, the fluid (mucin) can be very viscous, almost solid. Most resolve without treatment. If bothersome see a hand surgeon for an evaluation.
