A member asked:

I have a positive ana with a speckled pattern and low rbc, hemoglobin, hematocrit levels what could that be indicative of?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Autoimmune disease: Positive ANA indicate an autoimmune process in the body. However, it could be positive in viral illness, as an effect of some medication and normally with aging. Associated anemia and rash indicate autoimmune disease. Direct Coomb's test will help to confirm the presence of autoantibodies against your RBC.
