SSRI initiation: Antidepressants like Zoloft (sertraline) take 2-4 weeks to see the benefit and some people feel worse before they get better. This is particularly true for pts with panic/ anxiety. But you also have to watch for a bipolar switch esp in a young person. Talk with your prescriber, see if a low dose of Klonopin 0.25-0.5mg might help with initiation problems. If sleep pattern cont to worsen tell them.

Not unusual: It is not unusual to have some anxiety, jitteriness, sweating, sleep disturbance and gut disturbance while initiating treatment with SSRIs like Zoloft (sertraline). These side effects are transient and go away. Iit may help to take 12.5 mg for a few days if you cannot tolerate 25 mg. it is generally not a good idea to add one more medication to reduce side effects.
