A member asked:

How long after you lose your mucous plug do you go into labor?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Mucous plug: There is not a definite time frame related to the loss of the cervical mucous plug and labor. I have had patients that lost there plug at 35 weeks and didn't deliver until 40 weeks. I would focus more on regularity of contractions, vaginal spotting, and rupture of your fluid to help you guide whether you may be getting close to more active labor.
