Normal variation?: The back of the throat can exhibit varying degrees of what we call cobblestoning. Tonsils have "crypts", small indentations in which food matter and other particles can collect. A gargle of 1:1:1 mouthwash, hydrogen peroxide & warm water may help loosen these trapped particles. I would be concerned only if there's pain, pus, redness, swollen neck nodes or problems swallowing.
