Blount's disease: is nongenetic pediatric disorder in which the inner tibia does not mature normally. Thought to be due to weight on the growth plate. Risk factors are obesity, short stature and early walking. Prior to age 3, treatment can consist of orthopedic brace. It is not the same as "bow-leggedness", which generally corrects itself with growth.
