Infection?: The irregular periods may be related to the hormonal dysfunction associated with PCOS. But if you have a bad smelling discharge, you could have a bacterial vaginitis or trichomonis, both of which require prescription medication. You should see your doctor if it doesn't resolve on its own within a couple of days.
