Apply heat: apply heat, take ibuprofen, and do some hip stretching exercise.if the hip is slightly out of place that will put it back in place.i am not talking about completely out of place, sometime muscle spasm, wrong movement will place the hip in sublaxation mode specific motion in the hip will place it right back i9f not better see a doctor.

Hip pain: Possibly trochanteric bursitis. Could try anti inflammatory medicines. If no better. See a physician for an xray and further work up.
