More isnt better if your enzymes are not metabolizing the folate (folic acid)- which might be why you had a miscarriage. Before getting pregnant please have this checked into.

400 mcg to 1mg: Folic acid is very important up take before conception and the amount does not vary by age. The American College of OBGYN recommendes 400 micrograms a day(.4 mg). However, most use a set dose of 1mg for adequate coverage. Women with prior children affected with neural tube disorders need 4 mg a day. These are conditions like spins bifida.
