I am seeing a bone spec on thurs for osteopenia but was wondering why my neuro would pound on my back w/ his fist? this caused much pain, and worry.

Percussion tendernes: Gently striking you with a closed fist is a check for " percussion tenderness". When done over the kidneys, a positive response suggests a problem with the kidneys. But it is not intended to create prolonged pain, and as such should be done gently.
