Rule out tonsillitis: Chronic halitosis is often caused by recurrent sore throats and or tonsillitis . You need to be examined and have a throat culture. If that is negative then blood work needs to be done to evaluate for other issues, especially H. pylori. It is the ulcer causing bacteria that can cause halitosis as well . Make sure to brush and floss teeth 3x/dy. Also use a specially designed tongue scraper

Postnasal drip?: Lots of things can cause an unpleasant taste. If it seems to be in the throat then mucus draining from the sinuses could be to blame. Acid reflux from the stomach could too. A medical exam might help sort it out. Best wishes.
