?inflammation: The question is whether this is actual inflammation of the skin or joint or Acute inflammation of the skin from infection or irritation from allergy, clothing,insect bite,friction. An inflamed knee joint usually has swelling. See your Physician if redness,heat persists,spreads or if fever and chills appear,or if the knee swells or also develops pain.
