Heart Lung Spine: Conditions of the aorta, lung tissue, or spine disease can cause upper back pain. Imaging studies of the chest(thorax) may help. Good Luck.

Position: pain in that location could be . a positional pain the position of the head and shoulder while watching computer screen for example,that will cause pain right between shoulder blades. it could be a referral pain,pain from gallbladder,pancreas,ulcer,will cause pain right between the shoulder blade. my advise if it is hard to tell go and see a doctor.
