Still bleeding?: The heavy bleeding from ParaGard does seem to lighten up within six months after placement. You can try a nonsteroidal like Naprosyn, (naproxen) or prescription med called Lystada. You also can continue using the birth control pill to control the heavy bleeding for a few more months. I would recommend doing continuous cycling with the pill or ring which could stop bleeding all together for a while & is safe
