A few days is common: Pain at the injection site is common. You may also experience joint pain, swelling and stiffness after injection. It is advised to limit activity for 24-48 hours after an injection. This should resolve after a few days. Other treatments should be tried along with the injection such as physical therapy, swimming, or cycling.
