Yes: There are a number of options when using steroids. One is oral, using steroids by mouth. Another is an intramuscular injection, which is usually given in the arm or buttock. This acts as a systemic medication similar to taking a pill, but working faster. The other way is to inject it directly into the joint or area you are hurting; which is the most effective option.
