Was the scan: performed without IV contrast? It is likely just a disclaimer stating that pulmonary embolism cannot be excluded, probably because the CT scan wasn't specifically tailored to look for PE, it was done for fever. So likely nothing to worry about, but you can talk with your doctor to be sure.
