It helps.: Drinking fresh lime juice of lemon with water helps to aid in digestion after a meal to stimulate the hormones which iniate the breakdown of the food into carbohydrates and amino acids for energy.

Fresh lime juice: Contains vitamin C which is helps in fighting infections, iron absorption, limiting hip fracture in elderly and preventing urinary infections by acidifying the urine I do not think we have fully defined the role of Vit C. Likely individual variation too... http://ods.od.nih.gov/factsheets/VitaminC-HealthProfessional/ http://umm.edu/health/medical/altmed/supplement/vitamin-c-ascorbic-acid
