This is not a: medical emergency. However, at his age, he should be seen by his pediatrician. He may just need treatment with antibiotic drops, but some conjunctivitis (pink eye) is associated with ear infections, even without other symptoms. Since he can't tell you whether or not his ear hurts, he should be examined.
