Not before 3 months: The american academy of pediatrics recommendation is not to introduce food prior to 3-4 months of age. The digestive enzymes in the stomach and intestines take about 3 months after birth to fully develop.

Not until 4 to 6 mo: If you are nursing your baby, or even if he is on formula, it is recommended you wait on solids for at least 4 to 6 months.
