NO history.: It isunclear as to how old you are. If you are greater than 40 there is a chance you have diverticular disease or even inflammatory bowel disease. if this is entirely new could you be constipated ?When did you go last? See your doc and best wishes.

Abdominal pain: This cramping is spasms of the colon most likely. If you have an urge to have a bowel movement but can't, try inserting a rectal glycerin suppository or try administering a gentle fleets enema but don't take a laxative. If severe cramping persists or if increased pain,tenderness,distended abdomen or vomiting develops, go to the hospital emergency room for an examination as intestinal obstruction
