Have sharp pain that keeps shooting up the center of my head. it radiates from my neck upward. should i be concerned? this is the first time

Greater occipital N: This is commonly seen and usually is diagnosed as greater occipital neuralgia. The pain may radiate from the upper neck/back of head to the top and sides of head. It may occur unilaterally (one side) or bilaterally (both sides). Treatment includes physical therapy, medication, injections and/or complementary and alternative medicine.
