A member asked:

What dangers do a growing, benign kidney cyst present? could removal cause a stone? currently at 2.3cm (as of march 2014)

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Few: assuming that a qualified radiologist or urologist has determined that you have a simple renal cyst, there is certainly no need to treat this surgically. Simple cysts are not associated with renal cancer or renal stones. Cysts that do not meet the criteria of a simple cyst need observation but rarely intervention.
