Hemorrhoids: For prevention eat enough fiber and drink adequate fluids. If needed take a daily stool softener or even one with a gentle stimulant like senokot (senna). For itching, apply a cortisone type cream as needed. For irritated hemorrhoids,apply anusol ointment. For painful and thrombosed ones, apply hot sitz baths and consult a proctologist or colon-rectal surgeon. Bleeding ones also require the same specialis

Hemorrhoids: Key is to avoid constipation and avoid increased intra abdominal pressure. You can try preparation H, sitz bath that is sitting in a bowl of luke warm water for about 10 minutes 2-3 times day would help. If get infected or blood clot happens in the veins it may be very painful, see your doctor at that time, You may need prescription medication then.
