Mcrc pt - chemo fails . what can be done if anything ?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Immunotherapy trial: At some point chemotherapy fails in patients with met. colorectal Ca. The Ca stem cells in the tumor are resistant to all forms of chemo having DNA repair mechanisms for protection. Immunotherapy with Avastin, (bevacizumab) Erbitux and Neo-101 can help. The latter targets a post translational modification of MUC5ac that acts as an immunogen and is in FDA trails. A newer mAb Neo -201 is being produced.
