I know venogram is gold standard, but wow accurate is venous ultrasound below the knee? is it really operator dependent and 50-85% accurate?

Very accurate : Ultrasounds are operator dependent . But below the knee . If the vessels are seen and flow seen no clots. The question is really what to do with clots there. Some treat others don't . The study can be repeated to see if there is progression of the clots. Either way a very good study. Venogram is not without risk
