TMJ: You injured your temporomandibular joint. It can either be a sprain to the ligaments that make up the capsule or injury to the disc in the joint. The joint will become inflamed. If you have difficulty opening after using an anti-inflammatory for several days a doctor will need to anesthetize the joint and manipulate it to help you get it open.
