Close monitoring: An emergency cerclage is an extremely high risk procedure. Very close monitoring by your doctor is warranted. Please clarify the plan of care with your Obgyn as to how you should proceed. Often these cases are managed with bedrest at home or in the hospital. Serial sonographic cervical lengths are done. Sometimes medications are used to calm the uterus.
