Keep the area moist: The best treatment for a superficial sunburn is to keep the area moist through the use of water-based ointments, such as bacitracin, neosporin, or aquaphor. I would recommend discontinuing the panthenol cream for now, and using aquaphor or bacitracin 2-3 times daily for the next 1-2 weeks. The redness should fade with time as the healing process progresses.
