Metamucil: Metamucil is essentially a fiber supplement to your diet, and it is safe to use it on a regular basis for the long-term. In fact, it is probably good for you to do so. Eating foods that are higher in fiber is a good idea also. If you increase your fiber intake, you should also increase your fluid intake. Good luck.

Safe to use long term. However, it would be prudent to identify the cause of your GI distress and treat the cause, rather than the symptoms. It would be prudent to consult with a Gastroenterologist.

Okay to use as long as you need it. You may take a fiber laxative like Metamucil and drink enough water daily so that your urine is colorless. For the long term you may try to increase your intake of fiber foods.
