Can smoking cigarettes bring on pheochromocytoma symptoms?

To some degree: To define whether there is a functional pheo one draws blood levels of catacholamines which are expressed by and secreted into the serum by the tumor.Caffeine intake, cigarette smoking, and other sympathomimetic factors may increase catecholamine levels through the adrenergic receptors and should be discontinued for at least 24 hours before a blood sample is obtained.
