Long term help: We have had many dental patients who want to quit smoking. We have given prescriptions to some of them to reduce the desire. Some patients have tried the patches or e cigarettes with limited success.
The patients who have had the best success in quitting have had a good support system, gone to a program such as the 5 day Quit smoking program. Good luck.

Congratulations: on making a decision to quit smoking. Because withdrawal symptoms often lead to failed attempts, talk to your doctor about nicotine replacement therapy. Good luck!!!

Smokefree.gov: The above website is one of the best places to go for help on quitting. A lot of effort went into making this site as good as it is. They can even message you by text with encouraging advice as you count down to a quit date.
I believe you will be well on your way to quitting if you start here.
