Unlikely : Several follicles containing eggs begin mature each cycle. One usually becomes the dominate follicle and ovulates. The others simply atrophy and go away. That sounds like what is happening to you. In the case of identical twins one egg is fertilized and then divides to produce 2 embryos. This could still happen. Hope this helps.

I had my 1st u/s with my re yesterday . We saw no hb nor fetal pole. Small yoke sack visible measuring 6w2d. Progesterone 24, hCG 13, 000. I'm thinking blighted ovum?:( I have had two losses 1 twins.
Can you ovulate twice in one month, ie. releasing eggs at two separate times, or can you just ovulate once but release two ovum at this time?
Any chance this is an error and embryo still is ok just not visible on second scan? Us tech noted oblited ovum and kicked us out to go to physician :(
